Diversity and distribution patterns of antennal sensilla in Hydropsychidae (Insecta, Trichoptera)

چکیده
Structure and distribution of antennal sensilla were studied in males 19 species the caddisfly family Hydropsychidae by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Eleven types found: long trichoid, chaetoid, thick curved coronary, basiconic, styloconic four pseudoplacoid (mushroom-like, auricillic, ribbed, T-shaped). Thick ribbed pseudoplacoid, T-shaped found only Macronematinae. The great diversity originated from a mushroom-like type, which also has variable structure. Basal flagellomeres majority are equipped with ventrally positioned sensory fields trichoid sensilla. In contrast to Arctopsychinae Hydropsychinae, increased number these was noted for Diplectroninae Smicrideinae. Most Macronematinae show reduction strongly decreased average on distal segments. differences probably indicate rapid function-related evolution surface structures Hydropsychidae.

Diversity and distribution of the Caddisflies (Insecta: Trichoptera) of Ecuador
BACKGROUND Aquatic insects and other freshwater animals are some of the most threatened forms of life on Earth. Caddisflies (Trichoptera) are highly biodiverse in the Neotropics and occupy a wide variety of freshwater habitats. In Andean countries, including Ecuador, knowledge of the aquatic biota is limited, and there is a great need for baseline data on the species found in these countries. H...
متن کاملCroatian mayflies (Insecta, Ephemeroptera): species diversity and distribution patterns
Knowledge of the mayfly biodiversity in the Balkan Peninsula is still far from complete. Compared to the neighbouring countries, the mayfly fauna in Croatia is very poorly known. Situated at the crossroads of central and Mediterranean Europe and the Balkan Peninsula, Croatia is divided into two ecoregions: Dinaric western Balkan and Pannonian lowland. Mayflies were sampled between 2003 and 2013...
متن کاملBiological diversity of the Minnesota caddisflies (Insecta, Trichoptera)
The caddisfly fauna of Minnesota contains at least 277 species within 21 families and 75 genera. These species are based on examination of 312,884 specimens from 2,166 collections of 937 Minnesota aquatic habitats from 1890 to 2007. Included in these totals is my own quantitative sampling of 4 representative habitat types: small streams, medium rivers, large rivers, and lakes, from each of the ...
متن کاملLarvae of Amphipsyche species (Trichoptera: Hydropsychidae) from Thailand.
Morphological characters and scanning electron microscope images of the larvae of Amphipsyche meridiana and A. gratiosa are given. Pupal identifications are based on genitalic features in common with described adults, and larvae were associated with the pupae based on residual larval sclerites captured in the pupal case. Herein, the final larval instar is described, diagnosed, and photographed ...
متن کاملLarval antennal sensilla in water-living insects.
An overview of larval antennal sensilla in hemimetabolous and holometabolous water-living insects is given by updating current knowledge on the fine structure of these sensory systems. In the absence of successful electrophysiological studies, the possible function of sensilla is deduced from their architecture. Various kinds of sensilla are described in hemimetabolous insects, such as Ephemero...
